Surface Treatment of Pre-Galvanized Steel Pipe

Galvanizing annealing

Galvanizing annealing is the result of a combination of annealing and hot-dip galvanizing processes to produce a special coating on steel. The galvanizing process is performed by hot dipping and flash annealing, producing a matte grey finish.

Pre-galvanizing

Pre-galvanizing is a process whereby the metal sheet is rolled over a cleaner to quickly prime the material for galvanizing. The metal is then passed through a pool of molten liquid zinc and immediately rolled back.

Electro-galvanizing

Electro-galvanizing is the most unique of the above methods and does not involve dipping the material into a molten zinc bath. Instead, an electric current is introduced into an electrolyte solution that is applied to the steel, reducing the positively charged zinc ions to zinc metal, which is then deposited on the positively charged steel.
